The first wikipedians' Scout club in Poland started its recruitment procedure on Monday.

The Wikipedians' Polish Scout Club is the first speciality club in Polish Scouting's History[remark 1], which activities will be focused on discovering the potential use of Wikimedia's projects as part of needs and Scout organizations activities. Recruitment to Wikipedians' Polish Scout Club has begun on Monday: over first four days 24 members joined (as at 30th May 2020). The Wikipedians' Polish Scout Club is declared as open to cooperation with every Scout unit. Anyone in spite of age or interests can join the Club.

The basic goals of Wikipedians' Polish Scout Club (declared in its founder's program) include eight Wikimedia Foundation projects, as the following:

Sister project Declared club's goals
Wikipedia Publishing articles about well known Scouts, Scout affiliates and Scout events, that took place in history.
Wiktionary Creating dictionary of Polish Scout's sociolect.
Wikisource Publishing old Scout books and books about Scouting or foreign language publications translated into Polish by Scouts themselves.
Wikibooks Publishing mulitple Scout handbooks (and others, that relate to any of Scout's interests).
Wikinews Publishing press news about recent Scout events.
Wikiquote Collecting quotes and statements of Scout authorities, which are worthy of commemoration due to some reasons.
Wikivoyage Creating convenient and useful tourist guides, made by Rover Scout troupes and other tourism lovers.
Wikimedia Commons Publishing Scout's graphics (also 3-dimentional), animations and movies created by Scouts.

Remarks[edytuj | edytuj kod]

  1. Nowadays this club is still informal. That is because Scouts' activities distinguish themselves in bottom-up initiatives. Their formalization demand beforehandly to create written working plan, which is formerly validated by commandant of higher level (this procedure can last for weeks). If it was obligatory to avoid any activities of club's recruitment until its validation, such club could collapse. To provide good functioning of Scout's groups, its members should learn it in practise (it is one of features of Polish Scouting's Method).
